Head Girl & Head Boy Welcome

Head Girl

Hello, my name is Liliana and I am Avonwood Primary School’s Head Girl 2023/24.

I am excited to welcome you to this wonderful school. It is full of incredible teachers who put their all into giving us a more positive and brighter future. I am honoured to be Head Girl for this amazing school but one of the reasons I made it this far is because I had some really encouraging people on my side such as teachers and friends. One of the highlights of my time here at Avonwood Primary School is in Year 5, when we all had a sleepover in the hall, watched a movie and drank hot chocolate. Also, I can still remember when I walked into Foundation class and was welcomed with big smiles, and now I’m walking into year 6!

In Avonwood, we are encouraged to read every day and every night, which is great, especially for me because I love to read. I read all of the Harry Potter series by the time I was 8 years old, thanks to the encouragement from my teachers! My favourite subjects are Reading and English. My favourite thing about English is to write poems, because it allows you to express yourself in a creative form. The best thing about Reading is that we get a chance to explore beyond school grounds, without getting told off!

My top tip for anyone new to this school is not to be nervous or worried about it, because you will be surrounded by a lot of very friendly people who will make you feel at home. I am extremely proud to be a part of this outstanding school.

Head Boy

Hello, my name is Luke, and I am immensely proud to be Avonwood’s Head Boy for 2023/24. Firstly, I would love to welcome all the new families to this amazing community. I’m sure you will absolutely love your seven years here! As I am in my final primary school year, I realise how many brilliant Avonwood memories I have made that I will treasure for life. There are definitely too many to list, but here are a few of the best ones; Christmas is always such a special time at Avonwood and I always enjoyed taking part in the key stage one nativity plays, and later on the carol singing at that time of year. Also, we have an awesome P.T.A that organise exciting annual events, such as Fireworks Night and the Summer Fair. At last year’s Summer Fair, I really enjoyed running a craft stall with my two best friends.
